HYAD = Have Yourself A Day
Shall we hashtag it? #HYAD
We'll be doing special blog posts dedicated to 24 hours in any given city, and how we would spend it. We're starting the series with Cleveland because we feel it's an underrated city. Mind you, there are lots of cool parts and neighborhoods in Cleveland and tons to do, but these options are at the top of our list.
Have Yourself A Day : Cleveland
24 HOURS IN CLEVELAND, OHIO
Cleveland has a unique food scene, with new restaurants opening all the time. There are lots of great breakfast and brunch options, but URBAN FARMER CLEVELAND(1325 E. 6TH ST, CLEVELAND, OH) tops our list. Urban Farmer is more popularly known for it's dinner as a steakhouse, but it provides a killer brunch. Items ranging from eggs benedict and farm vegetable frittatas to seasonal smoked salmon and granola waffles, all made from locally sourced and sustainable ingredients.
After breakfast/brunch, do a touristy thing and head over to the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME (1100 E 9TH ST. CLEVELAND, OH).
The R&R Hall of Fame is extremely well done, and awesome to walk through, even if you're not into museums. Unless you hate music, but like.. who hates music? So, do yourself a favor and spend some time wandering through it. You won't regret it.
The building itself is located extremely close to the water, Voinovich Bicentennial Park, the infamous Cleveland script, and a great place to snag some photos. So, after the R&R Hall of Fame, take a nice walk toward the water, take some photos, and head over to NUEVO MODERN MEXICAN & TEQUILA BAR (1000 E 9TH ST. CLEVELAND, OH). Conveniently located a matter of steps away, Nuevo offers some fantastic tequila flights, fresh, beautiful plates, and a waterfront view.
Now, if you're in the mood for a nice, lengthy walk, you can walk towards THE ARCADE (401 EUCLID AVE CLEVELAND, OH). However, an Uber is perfectly acceptable as well! The Arcade is filled with shopping and dining options, but is mostly just aesthetically gorgeous to walk through. We recommend popping into THE TEA LAB, getting yourself a cup of one of something delicious, and checking out the number of boutiques and shops throughout.
Once you leave the Arcade, you'll have lots of fun happy hour/appetizer locations nearby! Some of our favorites include THE CHOCOLATE BAR(347 EUCLID AVE, CLEVELAND, OH), located right next door, where you'll be able to find something sweet whether it's dessert or a cocktail. Just across the street is East 4th Street, a strip of colorful bars and restaurants that end at the lights up in the night. Before heading to dinner, we would pop into THE BUTCHER AND THE BREWER(2043 E. 4TH ST, CLEVELAND, OH) or SOCIETY LOUNGE(2063 E. 4TH ST, CLEVELAND, OH).You're also conveniently located right near Progressive Field and Rocket Mortgage Field House, in case you want to grab a quick bite before or after a game or concert.
Save room for dinner at Cleveland-native Michael Symon's LOLA BISTRO (2058 E 4TH ST CLEVELAND, OH) also located on E. 4th Street. Lola offers a lovely atmosphere, and a seasonally changing, but never disappointing menu.
After dinner, grab an Uber and head over to a neighborhood called The Flats. Start at BIG BANG DUELING PIANO BAR (1163 FRONT AVE CLEVELAND, OH) and make your way around the block for tons of bars and late night entertainment options.
THE PUNCH BOWL SOCIAL CLEVELAND (1086 W 11TH ST. CLEVELAND, OH) is another one of our favorite stops, especially if there's any type of sporting event going on. The Punch Bowl is a huge building, with a large diner, a number of bars, an arcade, a bowling alley, and even some rooms upstairs with games like shuffleboard all available for your use!
Finish your night exploring the Flats before heading back to your hotel.
